DONATIONS
The Foundation hopes to continue to grow and excel, and to be able to increasingly help more individuals in need. We rely on donations grants, and fundraisers to provide assistance to those in need. All funding goes to supporting the Foundations initiatives, and is used at our discretion.
About the Foundation
The Rocky Mountain Care Foundation (RMCF) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), charitable organization founded in 1999. The mission of the Foundation is dedicated to supporting the essential healthcare needs of the indigent and under-served population by raising funds and creating innovative community solutions. The Foundation provides support in many states, including NV, CA, WY, and ID, by offering the following services:
CHARITABLE CARE: The RMC Foundation has established a Charitable Care Assistance program to help cover part, or all, of the healthcare costs for those in need; providing financial assistance to those without health insurance and those with extenuating circumstances.
VOLUNTEERS: The Foundation provides a series of volunteer programs in order to improve the quality of life for the under-served elderly, chronic or terminally ill individuals and their caregivers. Three programs are designed to offer volunteers help meet specific needs of the populations served: hospice/homecare volunteers, Skilled Nursing Facility volunteers, and Community Outreach volunteers. The volunteers provide an array of services including but not limited to the following: respite care, which allows the caregiver time to care for their own needs; visiting and/or making friendly phone calls to the patient; grocery shopping for the patient; assisting with unfinished projects and/or hobbies; and other miscellaneous needs our volunteers are willing and/or able to perform. Volunteers are not allowed to transfer or transport patients, or pick up or handle medications for the patients. RMCF volunteers are big hearted individuals who selflessly give of their time and talents to those in need. In 2008, RMCF volunteers gave over 12,000 hours in service. Each volunteer applicant completes a reference check, criminal history/background check, and TB skin test. The applicant then must complete a training course preparing them for assignment to serve families and patients with terminal illnesses, disabilities, or with other needs. Our volunteers program plays an integral part in upholding the mission of our Foundation.
FUNDING: The Foundation also supports capital improvements for skilled nursing facilities. Making the decision to place a loved one in a skilled nursing facility can be one of the most challenging decisions a family makes. This program is designed to help maintain the quality of Rocky Mountain Care skilled nursing facilities, assuring that they are comfortable, safe, and able to meet the needs of the residents. Currently we are supporting the construction of the new Hunter Hollow Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facility in West Valley, UT. According to company president, Dee Bangerter, "This is a long sought-after dream to build a state-of-the art rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility to serve the residents of the valley." Rocky Mountain Care Foundation is proud to support such a cause. Donate now.
